Andy Whitfield, who starred in the television series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” died because of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma illness on Sunday in Sydney, Australia. He was 39 said Whitfield's wife Vashti in a statement.

Andy Whitfield get a big break when he was chosen as the title character in Spartacus: Blood and Sand. But during a routine inspection in March 2010 just before the production season 2 to start, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma treated stage. Production was suspended during treatment of Whitfield. Finally, he went into remission and days out of season 2 of the movie, when the cancer returned and he continued his aggressive treatment.
