Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders' first game since the brawls and shootings that marred last week's preseason matchup against the San Francisco 49ers went off without much incident Sunday, winning praise from the NFL's top security official for Oakland's tackling of fan safety issues.

Pryor is on the sidelines for the Oakland Raiders preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, but will not play in the Sunday game. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith worked together to decide the proper punishment for Pryor.

At the end of the game, the New Orleans Saints had won 40 to 20 and about 10 or 12 people had been arrested, a pretty average number for an Oakland game, Sgt. JD Nelson of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said.

"We get arrests before games for people with warrants, or who are selling counterfeit merchandise. We find it before every game," Nelson said. And though one person was arrested for starting a fight outside the stadium gates, "The policing aspect of the game was fine, as we all knew it would be, quite honestly. It was kind of a no-brainer. We don't tend to have problems here, especially during the preseason."
